Today our 6th grader was promoted from elementary school to middle school! Brandon and his class of 24 students with parents were first honored with a Spotlight Lunch of Subway Sandwiches. Their graduation ceremony followed where the students received numerous awards: here his teacher Sheryl awarded the Robotics team their certificates.
The students each gave a speech about a lesson they learned at McNeil with a story to illustrate. Brandon shared, "I learned to slow down and do my best." He remembered hating to make his spelling words out of clay because it took so long, but then he had to start over because they were sloppy! It was easier to just do it right the first time. :)
Mr. Swanson presented their diplomas, followed by a powerpoint slide presentation the students prepared, and a dessert reception in the library where memory books and autographs were shared. We're celebrating a milestone!
