Wednesday, October 14, the second week of our Pioneer Club meetings for this fall, three of our four classes traveled to the Homer Spit for a hike to earn our badges. Clayton is in Mrs. Dubber's 1-2nd grade Voyagers class that collected seashells for a candle-making craft. Jordan is in Mrs. Brooks' 3-4th grade Pathfinders class that built a bonfire on the beach using only one match and wood shavings!

And I got to move up to the 5-6th grade Trailblazers class this year since Lenore is teaching school full-time. Shucks! But, what a great group of 12 kids... 10 boys and 2 girls. :) We hiked with our compasses to earn our orienteering badge: "Put Red Fred in the Shed." North!

It was sprinkling a little, but pretty mild, so we didn't get cold at all.
My only girls - Kayla and Claire. It's a good thing they're best friends!

Nathan got his compass figured out.

Justice and Corey were up for the adventure.

Sam at our final orienteering destination... snacks on the Boulders.

Dakota posed for action on the old piling. It's going to be a great year!
