Last Friday, October 2, was Brandon's last cross-country meet of his 7th grade career... at home!
Here the boys from the four schools he raced the previous three weekends lined up in front of our Middle School gym for their 1.5 mile race. Brandon's hand's are on his knee...
And they're off! Brandon is the little guy, third from the left.
Coach Ridgley and Clayton cheer him on at a mid-way point.
Brandon was still in 9th, his usual spot, with just a little ways to go.
But, shucks, he ran out of steam and got passed in the last stretch... 13th place.
Two other Homer boys received medals for 9th and 10th this time. But Brandon did have the best time of any of his races. He improved from 9:57 minutes his first race to 8:44 minutes this last race. Way to go - we're proud of you!
