The (Water Tank ) & ADDITION!

Tuesday, December 8, Sheldon called Arno to dig out our water tank (once again) to get it back in service. Sheldon would like to park his truck in the garage again when the temporary tank can be removed! The fitting to the water line at the BOTTOM of the tank was loose from when we dug it up a couple years ago to repair the top fill line. (Notice the spliced phone line from the last time... it isn't working again now :)
It was dark by the time they got it back in the ground (4:30 p.m.)
Jeremy helped Sheldon build some structures (extended higher the next morning) around the fill pipes so he can get to them again easier.
AND THEN... Wednesday was the day to start on the addition! The ground was full of frost chunks, though the weather has been mild and consistent, just around freezing. So the job took twice what the boss figured, but he eventually found a smile as he stood at the "3-pt. line" and imagined a "swoosh!"
The GYM dimensions are 27' x 32.'
Again, it was dark by the time they were forming footers!
Thursday, the truck showed up at 9 a.m. with 6 yards of concrete.
Jeremy Young and Steven Nelson helped shovel and push the loads.
Six hours later, the guys tore the form boards off and starting building the foam block wall. (I had the Veldstra 5 for piano lessons, so they loved the pile of dirt with our boys after school!)
Sheldon is trying to decide if 2 courses are going to be high enough across the back corner if he takes out the one clump of alders?
We're all pretty excited as we dream about our new space every night!
