Happy New Year 2010!

We celebrated New Year's Eve in our favorite tradition by heading out into the hills to snowmachine and spend the night at Edens' cabin. God dazzled us with sunshine for beautiful scenery as Iliamna and the other mountains stood out in their splendor!
We took off from the Russian village of Nikolaevsk with Cook Inlet behind. There isn't a lot of snow this year, but a great base for nice trail rides ... and not much powder to get stuck in. :)
Ken Farnen is always our fearless leader, and the Etzwilers joined us this year on their Arctic Cat machines, too! This is Chris and Ty when we arrived at the cabin at sunset (4:30 p.m.) Thursday, December 31.

God wasn't finished showing off - what a gorgeous full "Blue Moon" that lit up the sky and reflected off the snow for an amazing night ride after some hamburgers! We could hardly convince the boys to come in...
We filled up the little cabin and played the requisite games of Skip-Bo!
Krista hung out up on the cozy top bunk, and Sheldon kept snacking.FINALLY... it was time for FIREWORKS at midnight!
Thanks to Aunt Aimee, we had sparklers, rockets, and fountains!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010!
The kids slept in until 8:30, and after bacon and eggs, we were treated to a glorious sunrise at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 1.
The mountain view right out the front door of the cabin.
We took turns all day on the machines... Brandon and Ty on the 550.
Clayton and Koby on Uncle Willie's Polaris Edge.
Krista and I only managed to bury/tip our machines once or twice!!
Jordan with Uncle Ken on his 800 Ski-Doo!
Now Brandon leans on the Edge. And Sheldon shows off his Polaris 700.
Amazing sunny mountain views all around.
And they're off!!!! May the best man (machine) win!
The boys found a few more sparklers before we packed up camp.
Jordan likes to go fast. And another hill to JUMP, Ken!!!
Brandon and Koby punched it. :)
Riding off into the sunset. What a great time of amazing blessings from above... beauty and health, rest and play, great kids and friends!
