Brandon's first track meet took place in April at Soldotna Middle School. The snow was mostly melted, and the sun was shining though the wind was cool. Brandon's first event was the 100 meter HURTLES. He finished first in his heat!
His other event was the MILE. Running with all the 7-8th grade boys, he admitted, "I was way too nice at first and let lots of people cut in front of me to the inside lane." But he ran in the middle of the pack and finished strong! Two other track meets were canceled for weather, but the Borough Meet took place in Nikiski May 7-8. Brandon qualified for the final heat in the hurtles, the only 7th grader, and ran much better in the mile as well. Way to go!
