July 4th in Halibut Cove!

Sunday after church, we met up with the Etzwilers at their boat "Papa Bear" in the Homer harbor to head across the bay for the holiday weekend. This was the first stay in Beachy's Halibut Cove cabin since it's been fixed up... still without water, but perfect for a little camping out! :)Our neighbors weren't quite so thrilled with our arrival... "Sue" Seagull was sitting with some young ones, and her husband "Seymore" made quite a fuss when we walked by on the boardwalk!
The boys all put their hooks down right away, and of course, Sheldon was the first one to catch anything!! Hours of entertainment from the docks for anything that might bite...Picnic and burgers on the deck - mmm! Then some more fishing!
Krista and I stayed on the beach by the fire to chat and to read.
Then it was time for fireworks... nearly dark?!The echos and reflections were pretty amazing in the Cove!Time for bed... the boys were cozy in the upstairs dorm room.
Jordan was glad his dad woke him for the early morning salmon troll.

The rest of us slept in, read books, and ate cinnamon rolls. :)And all day to PLAY! The neighbor's awesome hydro bikes...Canoe...
Weeds to pull...... and more Fishing!!Thanks for a great weekend and fun memories, Guys!
