Summer Job

My teenager has his first job this summer baiting hooks with Gary Sinnhuber of SilverFin Guide Service, leading fishing trips on the rivers of the Kenai Peninsula and across Kachemak Bay. One of the perks of the job is being able to cast a few times himself when the work is done, and Brandon landed a monster 25 lb. King Salmon this Thursday, July 1, on the Ninilchik River! The fish was pretty dark as it was heading upriver, but he took it to his Grandma to smoke. Great catch!
Brandon stumbles out of bed at 1:30 a.m. to make Alaskan daybreak with the clients on the water, but the spark returned to his eyes when he received his first paycheck this week. :) Gary is also his drumming instructor, so they're shopping for a full drum set in which to invest his earnings. Oh boy!
