Brandon's Bump

Following his cholesteotoma ear surgery years ago, Brandon has had a scar behind his left ear. One of the stitches seemed to be pouched slightly at first, the size of a grain of rice. But over time and with puberty, the bump grew to the size of a lima bean... soft and not painful at all, but noticeable to his jr. high peers. So, we asked Dr. Ziril to take a look at it this summer. Of course, he had to be sure nothing was growing back behind the eardrum, so Brandon did the MRI hour of "banging" in the the magnetic tube.
Nothing else showed up! Brandon was scheduled for a simple surgery in Dr. Ziril's office Wednesday, August 4, in Kenai to have the fleshy cist removed. The numbing injecting needles were the worst part!He did great and got 3 verticle matress stitches this time for a smooth and clean finish. Goodbye, Dr. Ziril. Hello 8th grade! :)
