This fall painter Bruce Nelson from Kodiak, Alaska, was the guest at McNeil Canyon elementary for art instruction with the kids. The boys were captured by his oil paintings of salmon and halibut, seashores and seashells! Bruce's instruction in line and shading, contrast and scenes kept the students busy scribbling for 2 weeks. :)
Friday, October 1, Mr. Nelson's work was on display in Homer's Art Shop Gallery, along with the student's favorite pieces.
The McNeil kids were bussed into town for a field trip tour of the gallery and the featured art selections during the morning, and that night parents were invited to a special showing and meeting with the artist!
