Happy Birthday #8, Clayton!

My baby celebrated January 19th all week long! We got a "Pirate" party set on sale from Stampin'Up!, so Saturday the 15th he had big flags to punch out for a banner, and little flags for cupcake toothpick toppers, invitations to fill in, cardboard eye patches to add stickers and tie elastic bands to, AND treasure chests to punch out, assemble, and fill with gold coin candy!!
Wednesday was his birthday, but he was too booked to add a party - he opened his new Bruins sweatshirt from us at breakfast, they sang to him and pinned him with a birthday ribbon at school, he stayed for after-school ice skating and the long bus ride home for a quick dinner before Pioneer Clubs, where they sang to him again. :)
So Thursday the 20th he helped me decorate his pirate ship cake after school... VERY COOL. A chocolate 9x13 cut in half and stacked for a double decker ship trimmed for a hull and finished with tootsie rolls, pirate masts, candle canons out the SIDE, and a treasure chest on top!
The Staffords, Uncle Ken, and the Etzwilers came for lasagna dinner, and the kids helped sing and blow... though Emily just wanted Clayton to take his hood off! "Arrggh!" We finally got around to presents - awesome remote car, fishing waders, dominoes track, and new hoop for his rim in the gym.
And Saturday the 22nd, five of his friends came for a party! They played Wii and opened presents FIRST...
... ate pigs in a blanket and cupcakes for lunch...
... and then played outside in the beautiful, wet snow - chasing rabbit tracks up the creek. What a great week for a great kid!!
