Science Fair Projects

Tuesday, April 19 was the Science Fair at McNeil Canyon Elementary, so Jordan decided to make an anemometer with a pencil stuck in a spool with cupcake papers on cardboard crossbars to test the wind conditions with weather, time of day, and location for a week. A neighbor had a windmill installed for electric power, and he wanted to see if it would be practical at our house... and found out - no!
Clayton and Ty followed directions for testing Acids and Bases using red cabbage juice as the indicator. After chopping and boiling the vegetable, they poured it over 8 different household ingredients for an amazing display of colors from hot pink (lemon juice - acid) to teal blue (baking soda - base). COOL!
