Humpy Creek Fishing in the RAIN

Saturday afternoon, August 6, we hauled a load of firewood over to Halibut Cove with Sam and Marilyn, Lisa and Emily to hike and fish, have dinner and a fire. Sheldon and Jordan convinced me to accompany them around the corner in the bubble to Humpy Creek to photograph the great return of the pink salmon. Brandon's waders fit just fine. :)
It wasn't raining when we left, but it didn't let up once we arrived!
The boys found a couple bites in between snags in the overgrown trees, but soon realized that the "every other year" strong return story was true. The pink fishing was phenomenal LAST year with fish on "every other cast"!
They were persistent and patient, and we enjoyed a little hike up the river to check out the different fishin' holes along the way.
Jordan did finally catch another pink salmon to keep for dinner at the cabin, and we decided we'll go back to Humpy Creek to fish again NEXT year.
