Across the Bay to Play

Friday night, July 27, we took the Daze On across to spend the night at Halibut Cove.  Jordan invited friend Spencer Warren along with high hopes of finding pink salmon in Humpy Creek for GREAT fun fishing!
The boys enjoyed a sunset tour of the Cove at 10 p.m.

The next morning, Saturday dawned clear and SUNNY, perfect for a smooth ride in the bubble up to the head of the creek.
The sea otters, seals, and eagles were all BUSY at the mouth - with lots of splashing fish!
Jordan and Clayton both had "FISH ON!" in minutes.

 Sheldon was in heaven!
Nice Humpy!

Jordan ties flies all year looking forward to this run...

 Almost every cast!
 Creekside beauty.
A triple hook-up... so many fish they didn't count if they were snagged, "Is it in the lips?!"
Mom was ready for a hike and a new hole upstream after 4 hrs. in the same HOT spot, but a bear in the trail convinced us to just enjoy the fish right where we were!

Clayton got good with the pliers to release these guys.
Spencer enjoyed his first day fishing with a pole on a river. :)

Sheldon found a big dog salmon, then a little dollie varden later!
Finally tired of catching fish?  What a GORGEOUS day!
 Back to the boat...
... and Peterson Bay with the neighbors for some wet suit TUBING!!
 A fun-filled day that ended with a SPLASH. :)
