July 4th Clamming and Picnic

Wednesday, July 4, the low tides were great to go clam digging in Ninilchik!  Warren and Ellirene Miller took their clan, too.... but we were pretty disappointed at the lack of dimples showing in the sand.  The razors were deep and far between this time.
Sheldon's folks Sam and Marilyn commented, "It's not like it used to be!"

Clayton enjoyed tide pooling and found some cool snails and barnacles.
The Miller's Grandpa Dave brought 15 yr. old cousin Michael from VA to visit AK for the first time - he got knee-deep into the fun!

The drizzly weather and poor clamming didn't hinder the family food and fellowship to follow, thankfully, as we ate BBQ chicken and celebrated "ONE NATION UNDER GOD WITH LIBERTY & JUSTICE FOR ALL!"
