Pop Warner Football

Jordan didn't want to run X-country this fall like his brother, so his choice was FOOTBALL!?  Of course, Clayton was recruited for their PeeWee team as well, and they've had a great time learning a new game and making new friends... along with finding new bruises every night. :)  Good defensive blocking below - #18 Clayton on the left and #47 Jordan on the right end.
Their first home game was Sunday, August 20, after church at the Middle School... there was a Cancer Run earlier in town that morning, and it was declared "Pink Sock Day" for the boys, too.  Hmmm... black Raiders football players wearing PINK?  It's for a good cause. The Steelers from the Valley up north added to the sock stylin's with stripes!
Clayton runs back with the kick-off; Jordan runs a cross play to get open.
The boys won 4 touchdowns to 3... there wasn't a scoreboard and they don't often kick an extra point, so I'm not exactly sure what the score was!  Nice to play one team with boys close to their own size, at least.
They practice T/Th 5:15 - 7:15 p.m. after school now instead of every day, and we're thankful for carpool friends.  We'll travel to Soldotna and Anchorage a few more weekends for games through September.  Go Team!

I like seeing a football jersey that says, "Beachy" :)
