Wednesday, October 14, the second week of our Pioneer Club meetings for this fall, three of our four classes traveled to the Homer Spit for a hike to earn our badges. Clayton is in Mrs. Dubber's 1-2nd grade Voyagers class that collected seashells for a candle-making craft. Jordan is in Mrs. Brooks' 3-4th grade Pathfinders class that built a bonfire on the beach using only one match and wood shavings!
And I got to move up to the 5-6th grade Trailblazers class this year since Lenore is teaching school full-time. Shucks! But, what a great group of 12 kids... 10 boys and 2 girls. :) We hiked with our compasses to earn our orienteering badge: "Put Red Fred in the Shed." North!
It was sprinkling a little, but pretty mild, so we didn't get cold at all.
My only girls - Kayla and Claire. It's a good thing they're best friends!
