Pioneer Trailblazer Campout 2013!

On April 5-6, my seven 5-6th grade Trailblazers were invited out to the Miller Ranch to earn our Camping, Outdoor Cooking, and Campcraft badges.  We learned how to use a hatchet safely, build a fire, and cook a meal in the coals.

 We set up our tents in the barn and had scheduled play time in between the camp requirements, "Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, touch the ground!"

 We mastered the art of knot tying...

 ...and marshmallow roasting.

 We bundled up to go to sleep... 25 degrees!

 Mrs. Miller invited us in for pancakes when we woke up to 3" of...

 SNOW the next morning!!!

 Carving with knives to fashion our walking sticks.

 A little Cops-n-Robbers around the barn,

 and lunch on the hobo stoves before we packed it up.  Woo Hoo!
