July 15, the Officer family showed up in Homer! Dad and Mom had been planning an Alaska cruise and fishing trip on Willie's Daze Off charter for over a year... the boys Mark and Mike surprised them and came along! A bittersweet bucket list dream come true upon diagnosis of Dad's terminal cancer.
He only had strength to go out for one day, but Sheldon and I took the boys for a second half-day trip trolling for silvers and rock fish at Yukon Island. A treat to spot a family of seals on the beach!
